Togame and Shichika now meet Zanki Kiguchi, owner of the Shinō Issö dojo and the ninth sword, Ötö Nokogiri. Togame and Kiguchi play shögi for Nokogiri but Kiguchi loses so she must fight Shichika with bamboo swords.
